Every email address on the domain you created has its own mail directory where mail system stores different files of each associated email addresses.

So, you have to navigate to the mail folder of that particular email address which is having the issue.

Step-1: login to your domain cPanel section.

To login into your cPanel you need to open up the web browser and type “http://domain/cPanel” replace the word “domain” with your own domain name you will see the cPanel login page.

Step-2: Open the File Manager Feature in cPanle and Fix the Corrupted files.

Next step you will open the file manager feature of cPanel to browse the mail directory of that particular email address.

  • Click on “File Manager”
  • Select “Web Root (public_html/www)” Directory
  • Check on “Show Hidden File (dotfiles)”
  • Click on “Go”

Now let’s navigate to the mail folder and then you will open that particular email’s directory which is having issue.

  • Find the “dovecot.index” file.
  • And rename it to “bad-copy-dovecot.index”

      Note: After you renamed “dovecot.index” file webmail interface will create a fresh copy of this file if it’s not available at the time of login.
