Windows 10 introduced Quick Access feature in file explorer. I personally love this, it is a quick and efficient way to navigate windows but there are many reasons why you wouldn’t want your recently accessed location hanging out where everyone could see.
The default behavior, when you open file explorer it shows you Quick Access Window, showing all files & folders which were recently used by you.
If you wish, in the interest of Privacy, you can easily disable Quick Access feature.
Let us see How to Disable Quick Access in Windows 10 File Explorer.
1. Right click on Start menu and then select File Explorer from the list.
2. Now Click on the View tab.
3. Click Options and then in new window use the drop-down menu next to Open File Explorer to: to change the selection from Quick Access to This PC. And then click Ok to close the window as showing on number 3 on below image.
Now close the file explorer, next time your file explorer will show my computer window instead of recently accessed files and folders. See below image.
This way you can maintain your privacy and prevent Windows 10 File Explorer displaying your recently used files and folders
