CentOS 6.4 Installation Guide
CentOS is an open source OS delivered by worldwide community of developers. It’s completely upstream release of RHEL & it’s free to use and share.
Follow the simple steps to achieve the fresh installation of CentOS 6.4

Here the Installation process begins
Step 1: Boot From CentOS 6.4 Bootable DVD
Insert Installation media and restart PC. After booting, you will see the following screen and then hit Enter by choosing first option.
Step 2: Choose Skip to Skip the Media Test
Here if you want to check your media for any type of missing files in your media click Ok, for installation we will select ‘Skip‘.
Step 3: Installation Welcome Screen
Here you can see the installation welcome screen press ‘Next’ to begin the process.
Step 4: Select Installation Language
Choose your language and click ‘Next’.
Step 5: Choose Keyboard Layout
Select your keyboard layout and then click ‘Next’.
Step 6: Device Type Options
If you are installing CentOS 6.4 to your local Hard Drive, select ‘Basic Storage Devices’. If you have a storage area network (SANs) then select down option. We will choose here ‘Basic Storage Devices’ and click ‘Next’.
Step 7: Storage Device Warning
Click “Yes, discard any data” to continue if there is no data on your Hard Drive where you are trying to install CentOS.
Step 8: Choose Hostname for Your Computer
Type your hostname and click ‘Next’.
Step 9: Set Your Time Zone
Choose your time zone and click ‘Next’.
Step 10: Set Password for Root User
Set the password for ‘root’ user which is your admin user (same as “Administrator” in Windows) and click ‘Next’.
Step 11: Choose Installation Type
Here I will choose “Use All Space”. You can check review and modify partition layout and edit partitions. You can create new partitions from here. But I will not check this and click Next button.
Step 12: Warning Storage Configurations to Hard Disk
Click ‘Write Changes to Disk’ if all of your desired partitions are created correctly.
Step 13: Parameters for Bootloader
With default option click ‘Next’.
Step 14: Choose Installation Type
We will choose ‘Desktop’ and ‘Next’.
Step 15: Installation Process Window
Step 16: Installation Completed Successfully
Click ‘Reboot’ to finish the installation.
