Have a Hisense TV with VIDAA (or older Vewd) and can’t find the Google Play Store? That’s expected—these platforms aren’t Android, so Play Store isn’t available natively. This post gives realistic, safe options to get the apps you need without hacking your TV.

`Why There’s No Play Store on VIDAA/Vewd
VIDAA and Vewd are not Android. They are different smart TV platforms with their own app stores and integrations. Only Android/Google TV models have the Google Play Store. If your Hisense shows “VIDAA” (or “Vewd”) in Settings → Support → About, you won’t see Play Store on that TV.
Tip: If you actually have Android TV/Google TV, go here instead: Open the Play Store on Hisense Google/Android TV.
Option 1: Use the VIDAA App Store
Most mainstream streaming apps publish native versions for VIDAA in supported regions. The catalog differs by country and model generation.
- Press Home → open the App or Store tile (may be labeled VIDAA Store).
- Browse categories or search for the app by name.
- Select the app → choose Install (or Add).
- Launch from Home or add to your favorites row.
Tip: For remote control and quick app access, install the official VIDAA mobile app on iOS/Android by scanning the QR code in TV Settings → Support → Mobile App.
Option 2: Casting & Screen Mirroring
If an app isn’t available in your VIDAA store, send content from your phone or laptop. Many users rely on casting/mirroring apps designed for VIDAA/VEWD, or on the official VIDAA mobile app for media sharing.
- Within the VIDAA app: Use media share/cast options to send videos/photos/music to TV.
- Third-party casting apps: Install a VIDAA/VEWD-compatible casting app on your phone; follow the in-app pairing flow to cast web videos to your TV.
- From a laptop: Use the casting option in your browser (if supported) to mirror a tab to the TV.
Note: Casting quality depends on your Wi-Fi network and app/site DRM rules. If casting is unreliable, move to Option 3.
Option 3: Plug in an External Streaming Device (Recommended)
The most reliable way to get full app catalogs and frequent updates is to connect a dedicated streamer via HDMI—e.g., Chromecast with Google TV, an Android TV box, or Amazon Fire TV. Setup takes minutes and avoids firmware risk.
| Device | Pros | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Chromecast with Google TV | Clean UI; Google Assistant; large Play Store catalog | Google account required |
| Android TV Box (e.g., NVIDIA Shield) | Powerful hardware; widest Android app support | Higher cost; more settings |
| Amazon Fire TV Stick | Affordable; fast setup; huge app library | Amazon-centric store (not full Google Play) |

Option 4 (Advanced): About “Sideloading” on VIDAA
Important: Unlike Android/Google TV, VIDAA and Vewd generally do not support installing Android APKs. Any unofficial workarounds you find are likely to be unreliable, blocked by updates, or risky for security/warranty. New users should avoid this path and use Option 3.

What About Vewd (Older Hisense Models)?
Some older Hisense TVs use Vewd (formerly Opera TV Store). App availability is limited compared to Android/Google TV. For a modern catalog and better performance, use an external device (Option 3).
Troubleshooting App Availability
- Region mismatch: Some apps appear only in specific countries. Check your TV’s region settings and the app’s official availability notes.
- Network issues: Reboot your router and TV; connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi if possible.
- Firmware: Update TV firmware in Settings → Support → Update; then relaunch the store.
- Still missing apps daily? Go with Option 3 to avoid ongoing limitations.
